The African Canadian Social Development Council’s (ACSD) Black History Month celebration this year was more than a commemorative event-it was a powerful awakening. Participants were inspired to embrace the historic crossroads at which we stand, with renewed purpose and affirmation.
Held on February 2, 2026, at the Domenico DeLuca Community Centre in North York, Toronto, the event brought together a diverse mix of voices and perspectives. The venue was transformed into a vibrant hub of culture and dialogue, with a kaleidoscope of colours reflecting African and Caribbean heritage. Organizations such as Dabulacase Centre, Early Childhood Development Initiative (ECDI), Uzima Women’s Relief International and the Kenyan Women in Canada Association showcased African fabrics and artifacts, adding cultural depth and pride to the celebration.
