About Akwaba Community

AKWABA COMMUNITY is a non-profit organization, created on March 9, 2017 in Toronto. It is a socio-community organization whose scope of action covers the entire Canadian territory and is aimed at the entire francophone community of African origin. Akwaba Community wants to promote support within the immigrant community of French-speaking people from Africa and the Caribbean through shared collaboration.

Our Mission

To undertake, strengthen and promote concrete actions of solidarity and mutual aid that contribute to the well-being of the French-speaking African community residing in Canada. To pursue the realization of the well-being of the said community through collaborative actions and interactions with communities and/or organizations with a similar or related vision.

Our Activities


National Francophone Immigration Week

To undertake, strengthen and promote concrete actions of solidarity and mutual aid that contribute to the well-being of the French-speaking African community residing in Canada. Akwaba Excellence Award

The Akwaba Excellence Award (Prix Excellence Akwaba) is intended to highlight youth and young people through their heritage. It is offered to young people in the African Francophone community who are deserving of it through their talent, achievements, and actions in the community and towards others. These exceptional young people demonstrate the success of our community and what it stands for.

Celebration Of Black History

Akwaba Black History Month Celebration is dedicated to the exchange and education of Black people and culture. It aims to recognize Black culture and arts, as well as focus on learning about Black history, particularly at the local level by highlighting the historical and/or current contributions of Black people to society. The historical and/or current contributions of Black people to society.

Genius Of Africa In Canada

The cultural contest "Genie d'Afrique au Canada" aims to inculcate in the African francophone community youth a taste for excellence by educating them about Africa, awakening their curiosity to acquire more knowledge about their origins because knowing where we come from can only help us move forward by drawing resources.

Akwaba Magazine

We publish an annual magazine to highlight the African and Afro-descendants. We want to highlight the journey of immigration, the journey of success and especially the advice and recommendations that emerge from the experience to educate our youth.

Celebration Of Africa's Women's Day

Our goal is to bring African women and girls together on Africa's Women's Day (AWD) to celebrate women's bravery and resilience and to make them role models in the community. It is an opportunity for women from all organizations and backgrounds to come together.

Akwaba Africa Canada Immigration Investment Fair

Africa Canada Immigration Investments Fair is an annual space information, networking, collaboration and economic cooperation between Canada and French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa.

Newsletter Echoakwaba

The newsletter is a quarterly bulletin that is intended to be a link between us and the community of African, Caribbean community, Afro-descendants, families and friends. echo­Akwaba as its name indicates echoes the news of the community, organizations and programs, news items, events ads etc.

Akwaba Portal

The portal is a collection of resources made available to any newcomer and resident in Canada to guide them in their integration.
