Amara Community Youth Association (ACYA)

Amara Community Youth Association (ACYA) is a registered non-profit organization that was set up by a group of committed individuals in The Greater Toronto Area, to help fill the gap in the empowerment and capacity-building activities of the minority community, especially youths of Afro-Caribbean heritage, in a culturally sensitive and language-appropriate setting.

ACYA seeks to address the growing problem of youth gun violence and crime prevention by empowering the youths to realize their talents and engage their communities in a positive way. The programs address employable skills-based training opportunities and social initiatives including mentoring, counseling, peer support: financial literacy, networking, employment preparation, and job search activities.

Our intent is to provide a holistic approach to problem-solving thereby enhancing better communication, motivation, and social skills among the youths.
